Champion of Health Award
Each year the Foundation recognizes the work of a dedicated local health worker whose actions have improved the lives of low-income families in Orange County. This year's recipient was Harris N. Done, D.D.S., who selected Ayuda, Inc. to receive the $5,000 grant in his honor.

Children's Healthcare Access Initiative (CHAI)/CHOC ($2,500)
To support efforts to increase access of low-income children to health insurance.

Continuing Education for Physicians and Nurses Helping Low-Income Families
With support from The California Endowment and The California Wellness Foundation, the Foundation was able to work with local community partners, providing education targeting topics clinicians have requested:
- Substance Abuse
- Prevention of Child Abuse
- Depression
- Obesity
Additional sessions are scheduled in FY 2003-2004.
