    "CHOC/KOCE 4-Part Television Program Series"

    CHOC received support to design, produce and air a series of four one-hour evening television programs, airing on KOCE public broadcasting, on the following children's health topics: (a) Nutrition, physical activity, and obesity; (b) Oral health; (c) Asthma; and (d) Mental health.

    Support was provided to address the problem of maternal depression among low-income mothers currently enrolled in MOMS Maternal Child Case Management program. Mothers will have access to prevention, screening, intervention, and treatment programs for purposes of improving mental-health and family environments.

    A planning grant was awarded to the collaborative project by Hoag Hospital and MOMS to develop a business plan for a women' health promotion initiative that serves very low-income women in central Orange County.

    Planning grant funding was provided for the development of a business plan for a program providing mammogram services for women over the age of 40. The project will help create a safety net for young women and their families and compliment the breast health and breast cancer care activities of the Coalition of Orange County Community Clinics and other women's health service providers.

  • St. Joseph Hospital/InfoLink Orange County ($108,177)
    "Road Map to Health Care"

    A collaborative project between St. Joseph Hospital, The California Endowment, The HealthCare Foundation for Orange County, InfoLink and the Orange County Children and Families Commission. The web-based project "Road Map to Health Care" will be designed with a focus on accessibility to health information by clinics, doctors, hospitals, schools, social service agencies and the general public. The website will further the work of InfoLink Orange County's 2-1-1 telephone information and referral service. The site will assist caregivers and families in locating affordable and quality local health services to address their medical needs.
  • St. Joseph Hospital/Santa Ana Community College ($14,348) "A Nursing/Community Model to Strengthen Orange County's Safety Net"

    Planning grant funding was awarded to support the development a business plan to expand an innovative, nontraditional nursing program to community settings; increase healthcare resources; strengthen the local community health care safety net; and to alleviate the severe shortage of nurses and contribute to a more ethnically diverse workforce.

    St. Joseph Hospital and YWCA received planning grant support to expand an existing educational outreach program that addresses breast and heart health, women's lifestyle choices in the areas of nutrition and exercise, and preventative strategies.

    "The SEEPAC Center Planning Grant Proposal"

    SEEPAC (Support, Education and Empowerment of Parents of Autistic Children) Center is a newly funded center to be based at the For OC Kids Autism Center. The planning grant funding helps the center address unmet needs in supporting parents of children with autism.
