The Foundation provided $5,000 in scholarship support for local participants in the twelfth annual statewide "Cultural Competence and Mental Health Summit" held October 6-7 in Anaheim, California. The Summit was designed to increase the capacity of local healthcare providers to work effectively with different cultural groups in multicultural settings specific to the undeserved populations of Orange County.

Parents will be instructed on strategies to identify, cope and provide for the special needs of their children as well as increase their knowledge in obtaining access to local resources.

Funding supports training books and instructor stipends for "Helping Kids Cope", an educational program aiding parents going through divorce. The program will target individuals from central Orange County and will address strategies to reduce stress experienced by the children during and after divorce.
